From what I remember, I used to be able to see the amount and score of the company's ratings from the black screen with the load details. Now I have to click the company's name from there, which opens up a web browser, which then shows the ratings, and then I can click from there to read the reviews.

I might be wrong, but I don't believe I got this mixed up somehow. It stands out to me since it's another step I had to take in order to get an idea of the company I would be dealing with. I think you could even click the number in parenthesis next to the company name and it would take you straight to the review page and skip the company profile. I think I noticed the change around November or December.

Wow, that broker looks like a winner! ^^^^

I passed a level one with no questions last week. He glanced through my logs, didn't say a word. I have PC for some reason or another every day or two. Don't worry about it, not worried about it, not gonna start worrying about it. They are all short PC's and I put some comment like 'gone to get food', 'shipper made me move', etc.

If I get audited some day it'll be like any other audit. They'll scold me, fine me, make my life hell and expensive for a minute and that will be that. If they put me out of business I'll do something else.

Brokers must be hurting for Reefer wagons right now. I’m getting emails and calls daily. The broker I used to load for out of Tx has someone new in the chair and called earlier. He was offering to pay me to deadhead to Dallas and he’s offering strong money from there.
I’m already booked with the new broker or I’d be riding about now. I may see if I can get a bidding war started next round:D

I don't know the specifics of their route and locations. But at its face, I'm skeptical that it qualifies as PC.

Hours of Service of Drivers of Commercial Motor Vehicles: Regulatory Guidance Concerning the Use of a Commercial Motor Vehicle for Personal Conveyance

    (a) Examples of appropriate uses of a CMV while off-duty for personal conveyance include, but are not limited to
    3. Time spent traveling to a nearby, reasonable, safe location to obtain required rest after loading or unloading. The time driving under personal conveyance must allow the driver adequate time to obtain the required rest in accordance with minimum off-duty periods under 49 CFR 395.3(a)(1) (property-carrying vehicles) or 395.5(a) (passenger-carrying vehicles) before returning to on-duty driving, and the resting location must be the first such location reasonably available.

    (b) Examples of uses of a CMV that would not qualify as personal conveyance include, but are not limited to, the following:

    7. Time spent traveling to a motor carrier's terminal after loading or unloading from a shipper or a receiver.

One way that I can see it being technically legal, is if they arrived at their terminal before their 70 ran out, then their home is 4 hours away and PC is used.

Sorry to interrupt the PC talk and all, however, I just couldn't resist. IMG_3091.jpg

Well...Some of us are at the point of our lives that we know better than staying 4 hours drive from home because we need 34 reset in order to proceed. Especially in places like TA Mill City, NV. Perhaps risking some DOT zealot disapproval or God forbid, an ambulance chaser lawyer trying to pin you on that in case of a bad accident. But they will try to pin you on whatever there is and no matter how strictly HOS obedient you are.
Yes. There is some risk involving PC that everyone must be aware of and weigh it in.
To me it looks like he is going empty home released from duty and any clearly defined future business obligations that this PC move could actually be deemed as false. Surely, he is going to reload near home but nobody knows when or even if - therefore he is just running on PC and it is impossible to question that.
The only problem would be if after 11 hours, he would decide to continue to drive additional 4 hours. If I were a cop I'd frown on that. But even that is not defined by HOS.

Yes. The one I am picking up in a few hours pays $400 - $500 more than I ever remember or even 2 years ago (good year of 2018). Getting over $5 000 revenue on two moves that put me back in home area - 1700 miles is not too shabby .... as some of you like to put it.
