It's like you've got a little bureaucrat on your shoulder talking to you if you think you need to PC for some reason lol.

Not to mention the overseas companies “fixing” the drivers logs.

Oh yeah...They even openly advertise it in Cyrillic Alphabet. Camouflaging. At that point, it is not really that much different from paper logs.

    062 Thanks this.

Sure, and they wanted drug tests because nobody was doing drugs.

The general law enforcement may even find it harder to see someone running false Elogs than paper logs- at least for now. So in a way, FMCSA shot itself in a foot trying to ensure the end of log book fudging but that can be changed if they train cops better to find ELD fakes.

Take my exemptions I use out of it, and I still PC a lot. Drive to eat, drive to a motel, whatever I’m doing that isn’t work and could easily be done if I had a car available to me and I’ll use PC. The few times I’ve been checked where I wasn’t exempt and had to show my logs they’ve never questioned the amount of PC I had or even checked the remarks to see if I was exempt or doing personal things. It’s funny that your company frowns on using PC but is ok with falsifying paper logs. Seems if they’re that strict they’d be that strict on both.

With a grain of salt or even an ounce of it...
I am sure these are the same WSJ analysts who were hailing opportunity epoch for trucking back in 2018, alluring lots of wannabes who had never soiled their hands with diesel fuel.
How come they never predicted 2019 significant rate slide, which BTW originated the 1st version of this thread.
This a complex equation with lots of variables. They might as well tell us what the weather is going to be a year from now.

PPLC, Dale thompson and Scooter Jones Thank this.

There's no falsification when all the fuel stops, toll receipts and pickup/delivery times match. Anything beyond that I'd have to be caught red handed not current on my logs which ain't gonna happen. So who says I'm falsifying anything. It can't be proven. Everybody on ELD likes to pretend its all good and never a problem but I've been on them and know better. Have fun with it driver.
