That's a straw man argument because we aren't talking about drug tests are we?

It is a fact mega carrier lobbyist pushed the ELD mandate to level the playing field. Part of them selling it was also that it enhanced saftey which we now know that was a lie too. OOIDA was opposed to it. You couldn't find any drivers before the mandate who were for it aside from some mega company schlubs that need to be micro-managed anyways. In fact I would say if you put it to a vote right now to actual drivers they'd vote to repeal it.

But thats all beside the point. The point is the ELD mandate was not brought into being because of guys cheating on log books. We all know in this day and age it's pretty stupid to not log your actual fuel times and what not on paper anyway.

Just got home after doing 4,000 miles and 8 states in 8 days. Timed it down to only needing 1 hour of PC to get home. I'm wooped. Too tired to cook, just ordered a pizza. o_O

Rolled in at 1500 this afternoon. Ready for a nice weekend with family. It was another great week!

I was able to stack quite a few hundred dollar bills in the pup trailer I have here on my property! ;-)

Sorry @Midwest Trucker I left another 32 hours on my 70 again. I didn't even have to use any PC LOL!

Shameful. I’m going to call your wife and tell her no more pampering until the ol man puts at least his 60 in each week.

If he was on paper, he could still put 60 even though he really worked 48.

Rodney Dangerfield:"I'll tell you what Johnny, I know my wife's cheating on me!"

Johnny Carson:"Oh yeah, how do you know that?"

Rodney Dangerfield: "Because every time I come home, the parrot yells, "QUICK! JUMP OUT THE BACK WINDOW!" LOL

It’s not a problem for me. As long as they keep extending the COVID exemption I’ll keep logging my 20 or so on duty hours a week. Lol. You said the situation in your example would be less stressful on paper when reality is it should be logged exactly the same. Yes I think it’s funny that a company would be so strict as to not allow something that is allowed on ELD’s and then turn a blind eye to the guys they have on paper. Had I been in the situation you described I would’ve gone off duty at your customer and sat on the street for about 15 minutes or so if there was room. Then I would PC out to someplace that had food nearby. There’s nothing that says you can’t PC for food and oops I happened to have a beer with my dinner so I couldn’t drive back. The gray area that I would personally push would be to PC back to the customer. That’s just me though. I’m fast and loose with my PC as you say. I usually have 40 or more hours of it a week since the COVID exemption.

No-one is turning a blind eye to anything. Who says I falsify logs? Everything checks out in an audit and every time I get pulled over and checked I'm current. Just happened last week in Illinois.

Look, if you're happy with ELD then I'm happy for you. I'm even happier that you're on them and I'm not. I'm gonna continue trucking on the simple way. You sit there and use your PC for whatever. Play fast and loose with it and interpret the rule however you see fit. I won't have any PC on my logs. I'm not going to spend any time thinking about how I might use PC to do this or that. I'm just going to put the truck in gear and go. No use for PC. You have a good day.

The great PC debate ... thats what i mean by its a huge gray area. If it wasnt there wouldnt be a debate about how different drivers interpret how to use it... same goes for inspecters as well as an ambulance chasing lawyer should the worst happen
