    My daughter-in-law texted me and said her cousins were just evacuated from their home in Sublimity, OR which really isn't that far from the I-5.

    I-5 closures in southern Oregon due to fires, Ashland area. Truckers were abandoning trucks in the area.

    Might wanna check www.tripcheck.com if anyone reading is traveling to this area.

    My daughter lives in Jacksonville just west of the fire. For now the wind is blowing everything north. She's on a level one stand-by evac order in case the wind shifts. Sounds like quite a few homes in Talent and Phoenix have already been lost.

    Snow storm in wyoming and fires on the west coast. Pretty crazy to think about opposite type of weather, not that far apart. What does that mean for the places in the middle ? Were like the line between good and evil ?

    Spot rates hit new highs heading into holiday
    Aug 31 - Sept 6 - The average linehaul rate for dry van freight set an all-time record high in August (all-in spot rates were higher in June 2018 due to higher fuel surcharges). That momentum continued last week, with shippers and freight brokers paying higher prices to move freight ahead of the Labor Day weekend.
