2 reasons: that is all the company will allow me to take and more importantly, that is about all I can afford!
My experience running 100% legal, if anyone cares.

Well, I hope Dave is home with his family today. If he is, we'll excuse him from his update that's OVERdue !!! But being the company man that he is, perhaps he decided to stay out for a couple of more months !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thx Jim. Actually, I am at home now. doing the job search, this is going to be ALOT TOUGHER than I thought! No one is hiring in NE Ohio. I have filled out about 15 apps, both on-line and paper. I may be stuck at Knight for awhile, of course they know which explains the poor treatment!

At this point, fast food might be a more profitable endeavor.
I'm serious. Average out your hourly wage over the last month, and then look at all the intangibles--missing your family, your wife unhappy and all the rest. After seeing what you've been going through, I wonder why you'd ever consider getting back in that truck.
(Did you apply at FXN yet?) -
Move down here, I don't know that we have any more jobs than you, but this winter I won't FREEZE to death !! And I'm kinda getting used to the taste of them boa constrictors, and iguanas. Taste like chicken !!!!!!

Could try places like aaron rents. Just walk in and strike up a friendly conversation with the manager, see if they're taking management trainees. Salary $30k a year, 5 years training, steady and reliable work. Still some bs to deal with but you're well used to that.

I know I'm late. Better late than never!
426 miles driven
11.5 hrs on duty
$83.64 earned, b/c the 180 miles they let me DH home is unpaid but still has to be logged.
Well, after putting in at least 15 apps and contacting about 2 dozen companies, NO RESULTS YET! I am back on the road with Knight Refrigerated again. There is some good news, the shop in Memphis says my truck is fixed and ready to roll I have a load that delivers on Oct 6th at nite and then I will get out of this rolling ashtray! Even if the A/C is still broke I wont care! My kids and I spent all day Saturday trying to get the stink out of the "loaner" truck. It's better, but not gone. We wiped everything done with a clorox and water solution, took all the upholestry out of the truck that we could, scrubbed it with pet deodorizer and let it air out until Sunday nite, wiped all the hard surfaces down, I took the mattress covers off and wash them twice at the laundry mat, sprayed down the foam with Lysol and let it air out, then sprayed down again with Febreeze, re-assembled the matresses and sprayed again with Lysol and Febreeze. We probably spent $35-$40 on cleaners and 6-7 hrs cleaning, AND IT STILL STINKS!!! Oh well, only 1 more day and nite and then I will have my truck back. Who knows maybe by then I will have a new employer too!
Next post totals for the week. 9/28-10/4 -
703 actual miles driven
22.5 hrs on duty
$239.02 earned, b4 taxes and expenses
or $10.62 / hr
These total only reflect 2 days of actual work as I was home by the afternoon of the 30th of Sept. For the ease of numbers, I will start a new week today with my 1st load since having a few days off.
IMHO, Still nowhere close to a professional wage.
Hopefully the coming week brings better work. So far I am already in the hole! My 1st load picks up today at 1300, it's only 557 pay miles and can not deliver until 10/06 at 2000. That leaves me with 31 hours to drive 557 miles! Boy, I hope I can make it there on time!
