oregongrown, I am 41 years old and I thought I might be one of the oldest in my class when I attended orientation this week but there were several guys (and ladies) that were in their fifties. Anytime is a good time to start a career, as long as you are passionate about it. Good luck!!!

Denise, you will definitly scrape by until you complete training, including the companies mentoring. Following that is a crap shoot. There are too many variables to be able to predict. A good attitude couldn't hurt. Even if the pay is bad a good attitude will allow you to see the bright side. The art of clear communication provides a leg up. This industry sucks at communication.

Actually, I have applied to Harry and Davids to work either in their call-center or their warehouse. I just need more money to get started in any schooling. I am having second thoughts in other words. I am forever grateful to have found this forum because it has taught me so much I needed to know. Sort of the good, bad and the ugly of it all. It still may be for me, I am just putting a few other irons in the fire right now. I will always support truckers in anyway I can, no matter what I do, so I plan to stick around this forum;) denise

    jtrnr1951 Thanks this.
