i'm a new owner operator leased to a company. during a current level 3 inspection at a weight station, they told me that the leasing company's dot was oos a couple of earlier. they placed me oos too and let me drive back. and i just noticed a missed a call from highway patrol?
do they normally call drivers when place them oos, and what is that for? it's been a week since they called, shall i call back?
how does oos impact my cdl record as a driver and an owner operator?
do i need to go back to their office when i'm all cleared or what should i do to get on road again?
    thanks.

You need to be more careful of who you "lease on to". Would you like to name the company/location?

The only way I could see a cop doing that is if bobtail with your own plates, and then I don’t know.

that was exactly what happened. i guess because the authority was oos only a few days ago, and it was on a weekend. so they just said to have my company call and figure out what happened.

    Rideandrepair and rbrtwbstr Thank this.

Me too, I guess as long as it's not a safety-related OOS you can leave.

Let's also be careful with the terms. The operating authority was suspended. OOS is not really the same thing.
