Ive heard about this so wanna know is it true or shud I do it.
You know how some companies will pay you a certain amount to unload ata rcvr but if you use a lumper they pay waaaayy more? Someone told me a lil trick. To go ahead and unload the truck myself and then just put a ficticous name on the lumper receipt because companies dont ask for names they just give you a ar number. is this a normal practice in the trucking world

Yes, it is a common practice...................You decide what your labor is worth......
A good company will pay you what you want without the deceit. -
Yeah i know what you mean, The most i had a lumper charge was 350.00 up in Lock Haven CT, I have unloaded and the company is suppost to pay solo's 100 for a full Trailer, but they only Paid me 75 because i was on Dedicated Reckitt Benckiser..
and what you said above is correct, i eventually made my way back to lock haven ct, and in between time i purchased a receipt book, and Charged US Xpress 350.00 to unload that trailer, but that was the only time it was just a pay back thing, because when they paid me 75 bucks that told me that some guy thats probably an illegal immigrant is worth more than a loyal employee..
Well i felt i got even with them and never did it again, kinda like if your going to screw me i can screw u right back, i hate unloading any way its a pain... -
BE CAREFUL, as this could get you fired, and is illegal.
Illegal part is tax evasion, assuming you don't report the $$$ as income. Probably some sort of fraud too.
Also dont do this where your company delivers allot as they probably know what the lumper receipts look like for that receiver.

Yeah like i said above i really just did it to get even with the company, and their's no point in doing it all the time if they're paying for it I'm sleeping to get ready 4 my next load..
i think it was either Principal or Pride or something but to sit there and say that some Guy is worth more to us than you in my face well i was just a little pissed... but wont ever do it again, i don't have to, as far as that goes i don't even have to get unloaded ever again, all my deliveries are Drop/Hook -
I know where I work we do not pay the lumper. It is billed back to the shipper. That is why the lumper gets more to unload than the driver does.
-
What is drop and hook? how does it work?
-
So when i Deliver my Wal-Mart Trailer to a Wal-Mart Distribution Center, I check in with the Guard shack they tell me where to Drop it in the Yard then i go over to Wal-Mart Dispatch and say "I'm US Xpress Dedicated I Need an Empty and a Seal Card Please"
And the Dispatcher gives me a Seal Sheet and tells me what Row the Empty Wal-Mart Trailers are in, I hook to one and Leave for my Next Load -
I'll unload it myself, thank you.
When using a lumper be careful with those comchecks (and the likes.)
If I unload it, I get $100
If I use a lumper they get paid whatever, with a comcheck.
When I use a comcheck for anything, fuel, lumper, repairs, etc... It comes out of my paycheck. Then I have to wait for reimbursment, which can take up to 3 weeks.
I'll add $100 to my check, rather than subtract $200+ -
