Lol I seen that one coming, but that was how I pictured you using your M1A; M14’s weren’t in service until post Korea and was replaced without ever seeing action on a large scale by the M16 in ‘Nam; hey I watch Hickok too

My father was drafted in 1957, so he was at the tail end of the Garand era. He never got to handle an M14.

Nothing wrong with personal preferences. I personally don't like Glock, although a lot of folks swear by them, don't think I'd ever own one.

I love ARs though. I can hit 200 yds consistently with iron sights, it's a very reliable platform, and lots of options for customization.

My grandpa was drafted at the start of the Korean War and was supposed to be one of the first ones over there but they had problems with something to do with his 1 year of service was about to be up and they couldn’t fix it in time, so they sent him to guard the coast and he used to always tell me about the anti aircraft guns and stuff they had, he was a radio operator; also he told me after the war he talked to one of his buddy’s from his old unit and the guy said a lot of them didn’t make it back, which would be true considering when everything went to #### once the Chinese got involved

It is an all around good gun and you don’t have to specifically use it for anything unlike several other types; ranch gun, self defense, hunting, competition, etc

Could be wrong, but my understanding was the whole thing started because of the Chinese, or more particularly Chairman Mao.

Do have smaller hands? From what I've seen it's mostly folks with with smaller hands that don't care for Glocks.

I tried a G21, which is the same size as a 9MM G19 except in .45 ACP. It felt like aiming a brick, so I would imagine it's even worse the smaller your hands get.

200 yards with irons is great shooting. What size target?
