Does anybody have any info on Amazon Freight? Looking for info on rates, getting signed on, is it worth it or worth avoiding, etc. I live in Baltimore and they have a lot of trailers moving non stop in my area, would like to buy a truck, but without numbers they wont even talk to you. I am willing to make the financial investment and commitment, but not willing to buy a truck first and try to get a truck later, any input, hopefully both positive and negative would be appreciated .

You must have your own authority and a minimum of 3 power units from what I’ve always heard. Several years ago I went to one of their meet and greets and they wouldn’t even discuss rates. Most of us got up and left.

Amazon paid good back before they bought their own trailers and suckered in power only operators.

Rates average from 1.5 to 1.7 a mile. Tractor only. There’s team or solo driver available. Honestly I like it, but it’s my first otr experience, so I don’t know how it is in other places.

Search Amazon on TRR. You will find that their rates are laughable.

Amazon is also in the process of buying a huge fleet of tractors, so if you own your own rig, expect the number of available loads to gradually decrease as they find suckers to drive their tractors.

Interesting, hadn’t heard that. I’m surprised they are willing to take on the liability. I guess when your worth trillions, then millions may not seem like much.

Over the last couple months I've seen quite a few new tractors being towed west. All with shiny blue paint and the Amazon "dick" logo on them.

Good luck to them in their driver hunt. It’s all easier said then done. No doubt, like most of their positions, they will want to keep pay as low as possible.

I would almost guarantee that they are money ahead to keep milking power only operators with dreams of getting rich.
