Reefer companies usually have good accessorial pays; at least the ones I've worked for do.
CPM isn't as important as accessorial pays, which are pays for when you're not driving.
Accessorial pays are for:
Stop Pay.
Drop & hook pay.
Detention pay while loading or unloading.
Layover pay.
34 hr. reset pay.
and on and on, depending on the company. -

Local and OTR is totally new game, take your wife in the truck now on a trip.Some don't like it. If youlike spending hours waiting to load or unload, or waiting for a load, then you will love working for any large OTR Carrier
