Truck Load Weight Scales or Gauges

I have pressure gauge in the truck and a tandem scale on the trailer. Works well. Right Weigh digital is the one on the trailer.

 

Air Weigh is a brand of air pressure gauges that you can buy that are calibrated in 1,000’s of lbs per tandem axle group (50,000 lbs) the first few times you use them you can adjust them to read accurately after you get on an actual scale.
On any standard pressure gauge , people just put a mark on the glass where they find max pressure and weight is. (Usually close to 58 psi on a truck)
Anyone I know that had used electronic sensors had them fail within two years.

 

If you're handy you can just buy liquid-filled gauges and run lines from your trailer to the cab and run a line from your truck airbags into the cab.

You will have to get weighed once just to see where your gauges are when you're fully loaded.

However if it's your axle weight you worried about instead of your gross you can see where your adjustments are with those gauges.

I have been using mine for some time and I can tell just by where the gauge is whether I'm over on my axles or not.

It's cool because as you slide you can see how the axle weights change.

 

Well I think some of those weigh gauges are pretty easy to put in, I mean the regular kits that you buy for them.

They just cost more that's all.

 

For less then $50 you can buy 2 liquid guages and t into the suspension, little more of you want to get fancy and have them in the cab, next time you are near capacity get scaled, and write down the psi/weight on a clip board/paper/visor etc.

I have one on my dash for the truck so it was like $20 to set the trailer up, used to be able to load a dump trailer with 500 pounds using them
