I voted for their own chain...

I know it would be better than the Pilot (I hate pilot) and since Schneider has a ton of drivers doing wal-mart, then maybe they would start using them as a fuel stop instead. And like one poster pointed out, maybe that kind of competition would be good for the "Travel Canter" industry. Bring down prices at the chain gangs, and drive out the glorified gas stations.

Please don't take that as I want the ma-n-pops to go... I go out of my way to find them! The food is great, the people are friendly, and for some reason the parking seems to be plentyful.

Wally world stores now charge to unload their own freight??
Wally world has their own trucks, so we all should let them haul their own freight.
The d. c.'s are bad enuf what with the no idling imposition.

Wail mart truckstop, sure, they'll contact some of the flying j folk in the design therein ensuring that trucks will continue to have problems getting into and out of the lots.
As with the hook, these places will be designed for the comfort of the rv crowds.
Some wail mart locations charge truckers to park despite whether or not the driver(s) shop at the store.
In Arkansas on the west side of the state on I-40(Russellville?), there is a wail mart that has truck parking even though it is a rather small lot and appears as a poor design, yet it does allow about 15 or so trucks to park there.
It was nice the one time I visited for some food purchasing.

Wail-mart wants have 3,000 more stores in this country by the end of 2008, so the possible infections of wail-mart truckstops should'nt be overlooked as these are a greedy lot.
Sam Walton had a good idea however his idiot children have corrupted the original vision only as greedy, manipulative, wastes of skin have done before and will do some more.

Yeah, their trucks have their own lanes so they're in & out while the OTR's sit (no idle!). Also their grocery d.c.'s are contracted to Swift---I looked into & found that Swift underbid (again & their drivers suffer for it)-- where Swift runs their drivers 6 1/2 days out, 1 1/2 days off with no weekend off time ever, carrying 3-section reefers that they have to stand by the door, pull stickers off, and re-configure the 3-sections after unloading each of multiple stops, all for $10/stop!! Wal-mart drivers are too good to do the reefer thing, while getting their top wages, other than dry drop & hooks at their stores!!
