Ok. Maybe a dumb post. I've never had an issue driving the biggest u-haul moving truck, have no issues with 4wheeler manual transmission, have backed my old boat trailer almost blindfold with no issues. But now that I am less than a week out from actual class I am feeling nervous as hell. Warranted or just dumb arse nerves?

You're going to be fine, dude. Just in your own head. GOAL, go slow, and breathe and you'll be good before you know it.

Like I said before: when you stress, you make mistakes.

Think of it this way. When you first learned to drive as a teenager you knew nothing at all about driving, signs, skills used to control a vehicle etc. You've got an advantage now because you know the rules of the road and have some driving skills. You just need to adapt those skills to a larger vehicle now.

You'll be fine. The boat trailer is harder to keep straight than a 28ft pup is. They'll have you do it in a way to where you'll pass the test.

As for the manual trans it's not complicated to get down. Forget most of what you learned driving a stick in a 4 wheeler. A 10 speed will be 400 rpms between gears. The low side of the trans will shift faster than the high side. Look at the tach while shifting and after a while muscle memory will do the rest

it's new to you, but so was everything, at one time. RELAX. You'll get it. Just don't beat yourself up. You WILL make mistakes. Roll with them.

If it makes you feel any better , in trucking school, i stalled the truck out in the middle of the intersection trying to turn left after the light turned yellow.. Blocked all directions of traffic while i got it going again. With big letters painted on the side of truck and trailer "STUDENT DRIVER" ... made me feel like a dumb ### because i am , but gives me a good laugh now

Yeah, I can relate. I shifted while crossing RR tracks, and I had 2 shifts where, in order to avoid going too far between gears, I just SLAMMED it in. I thought the state inspector was going to freak, but he didn't say a word. He wrote on his note pad, though. ;)

Ty all. Guess you're right. Have to take the risk to get the reward. Just got to get out of my own head is all.
