I’m sure it’s been asked but can’t find any straightforward answers. I want truck specs ideas for Otr end dump work. No Mack engines not intertrash prostars. Kw,Pete, shaker, western star only please.

I want light weight but need a sleeper...
    Let’s hear some ideas

If its just gonna be mostly pavement I'd stick with typical road truck specs. 12-14k steer, 40k rears but I'd definitely go full lockers and probably tall 24.5 for better ground clearance. Maybe just a short flat top sleeper to save on frame space/weight.

Lol love the chicken lights. That’s the thing in end dump kinda have to find the right combo that can handle off road and interstate. I tricked Otr end dump for a company. Those trucks were spec awful!! I won’t say a name but you probably seem super single tires truck and trailer, single screw, automatic, trailer skirts lol yup 8 mpg and get stuck daily oh what a head ach those trucks were.

Does the company name rhyme with Shmoody Shmogler? We run Pete flat tops, and stand ups. We used to just have coffin sleepers for the flat tops, but now we got trucks in with a touch bigger sleepers. Makes a world of a difference. A little fridge in there, and a little table that folds down and a small closet. Crammed with fuel and a Kruz tri axle trailer with an automatic tarp we tare exactly 32,500.

For light weight with a sleeper you really can't beat a Cascadia or Columbia with a Detroit or Cummins engine. Avoid the SD122 Coronados, they're heavy.

Can I be so nosy as to ask what departed your employment from your company I had rhymed earlier in this thread? We run with them on occasion and inter line with a lot of their loads. Some of their drivers rave, and some just can’t wait to move on. What actually is the skinny with them? A big complaint I’ve heard is no matter what, that truck is making 4K a week. If there’s a holiday and everyone is off, then they are working Saturday to make up for it. That type of thing.

Yeah, but they're light and good on fuel. Ugly little moneymakers.
