    Short and sweet:

Eastern European, 1099 (like most other small trucking companies) company out of Chicago.

Been there for about 2 weeks and I got pulled into a scale and asked to come inside bc of my seatbelt. Officer then asked to check Cab card and trailer registration. Didn't have trailer registration in the book. In the end got warnings for the Seatbelt, registration and not having paper logs in the truck.

A few days later I'm in my home state for repairs the safety lady called me freaking out, yelling and cursing. I quit on the spot (they have a yard in my state as well so no abandonment). I don't take or give disrespect from these companies, period. We don't get to call into the office yelling and cursing folks out, so you won't do it to me.

They then charge me $300.00 per violation and $200 for "not reporting it" even though I had informed dispatch of the inspection, stealing my final check. They claimed its a company policy but I never saw it.

Do not work for these people.

So....let me get this right. You received 3 violations, all your fault and responsibility:eek:, and luckily got off with a warning and they're the POS company?

Every time one of our drivers get ready to leave, we go out and check to make sure they have everything in order. Then we buckle their seatbelt and let them go.

I guess you don't know ,they can't mess with your check unless you signed an agreement to withhold your wages

Not to mention withholding/stealing that money is a violation of federal truth in leasing regulations.
On a side note the trailer registration is supposed to be with the trailer at all times(usually in a little compartment mounted on or near the head of the trailer).

Yep, for a seatbelt and not having paper logs which I took full responsibility for. What the hell does this have to do with them stealing my final check and making up company policies on the fly to justify it? Lemme guess, you're Mr. perfect Trucker? Always doing those thorough pretrips and no mistakes ever, yeah? Okie doke.

I checked everywhere, even that compartment. No go, no trailer registration. They were borrowing the trailer from a friends company and I guess overlooked it. I didnt even get mad about it, just took the warning informed the company and left.
