So much for new doors. Easier to patch mine. Used some stainless steel from the BBQ grill I’m throwing out. Along with a old galvanized heat duct, some fender washers, and liquid nails. Outsides still look good. Few more screws, I’m done. The tain is just starting. It’s dark.

About 25 miles west of where I live in the Napa wine country is a little town called Bodega Bay California. It's where they filmed the movies The Birds and The Fog. As the name implies, it's on the ocean and the average temp out there is in the mid 50's year round because it's frequently foggy, and the ocean temp is around 58 year round so it keeps the air cool. It never freezes and only gets above 70 a few days a year. You can find weather like that from here north into Oregon along coast. Too expensive here to come in from another state and buy or rent, but when I'm ready to retire, I'm heading north into Oregon along the coast. I grew up in the snow and the hot muggy summers of the Midwest, and don't plan on living in too hot or too cold weather ever again. With all of it's downfalls, the California coast still has the best weather anywhere in the US.

Getting cold here. Down to 33F last night. A little too chilly here for open windows.
