There is no such thing as PSP points.

There is no such thing as PSP points.

There is no such thing as PSP points.

There is no such thing as PSP points!!!!

Just because you choose to make up a value doesn't mean there is such a thing as PSP points.
PSP is a report for the driver. CSA is a point system for the carrier.

There is no such thing as PSP points!!!! Although the things that go on a PSP report are the same things that are on the companies CSA, PSP and CSA are two separate things. Any "Scores" a company may show you is a product of some software that convert inspection violations and accidents in a numerical value for internal use at that company.

    From the FMCSA:

    • PSP is a new, voluntary FMCSA program mandated by Congress that is designed to assist the motor carrier industry in assessing individual drivers’ safety performance as part of the hiring process. PSP is a completely separate program from CSA. Additionally, PSP contains 3 years of inspection reports and 5 years of crash reports; however, it does not provide a rating, score, or formal assessment of any kind. Drivers are encouraged to obtain and review their PSP report before applying for new jobs and request a review of any potentially inaccurate data through FMCSA’s DataQs program. While the PSP is not part of CSA, the safety data accessible through PSP is the same data that the DSMS and enforcement staff use during motor carrier investigations.

That is something that your former company is sending out that their software assembled from your inspection and accident record. If you get online to:
Pre-Employment Screening Program - PSP News and Information
You need your drivers lic #, a credit card or PayPal account. $10 and you will have your PSP in a couple minutes. I hear that you can use the Freedom of Information Act to get it for free but I don't know how to do that.

So how is it that it’s used against me by a perspective employer? Should that not be illegal if obtained for purposes of trying to sabotage my future employment?

How is it sabotage if it's true? If you don't want your safety history tracked on public roads, don't have a job where you are on said public roads 11 hours a day.

Hey easy. I haven’t had a ticket in 7 years. I made the mistake of passing a group of slowpokes going 55 in a 60 clogging up the 2 right lanes so I decided to pass in the restricted left lane. Just so happened that I did it in front of a unmarked pickup truck. So wrong place wrong time my bad but by no means have I been a ####ed up driver. So know the facts before you catch diarrhea of the mouth down talking a fellow responsible driver. Closing in on 2 million miles unscathed.

Why couldn't you just roll with the "slowpokes" doing 55 in a 60? Its a lot less stressful and keeps you from getting a left lane violation. Sounds like you're closing in on 2 million very agonizing and stressful miles. Just go with the flow bro.

Yeah. Made me think about a lot. It is even worth it anymore. When I got in it was the wild Wild West now it’s so restrictive that daily I’m pulling myself out. Looking to get into cyber security early next year. But in the meantime I’ve got a 5 bdrm house to pay for.

What they're doing is taking YOUR record and seeing how it will impact THEIR score.
