Roehl called today and all my paper work was good to go. they said they would get me started the end of Nov. They scheduled me for a dot physical Mon. I hope I made the right decision. If I can stay with them at least a year for the experience I will be happy.

just listen and learn and do not get discourged when you cant get home when you want, or your sitting waiting for a load for hours, sometimes days
depending what part of the country your in. Keep all this in mind and play by roehls rules and keep a good attitude and make on time deliverys and good mpg, idle time and you will do fine and should have no problem getting the experiance you need and more. very good training and support

HI etch I was wondering did things start going down hill when you went o/o
with a new fleet manager ? being o/o your not forced dispatch , but at the same time you probably dont want to turn to many down. you would think that they would want to keep there IC people happy.

Well GRC, You were warned. Now is not the time to be job hopping either. I would try to hang in there to your 6 month mark. Etch, Thanks for you honesty and now validating what myself and many others have been saying on here. You can't polish a turd, and Roehl is a turd. At least you have the option of going else where with your truck. But the industry as whole is really taking a turn for the worse, even worse then before. They dont care about your hometime, there are plenty of drivers willing to take what you wont, unfortuanetly.

    grc56_tn Thanks this.

My take on Roehl is they keep training so you can get 8000 miles driven for $60 0r $65 a day and not have to pay any benefits and work us until we can't see and then don't let us come home when Roehl promised. All the while holding the EVO's over our heads. Then when we get back to final test DO NOT look at the workbook we have to do and then make obvious exceptions for some and then not others. Oh! Don't ever be asked to get off a trainers truck because they like to hit the sauce as soon as they stop for the night...just go along with it and don't cause any waves. Oh and if you get a bus ticket home...be aware that Greyhound only allows one carry on and one bag below. The second bag below and bags 3 on up has to go freight which in my case was $85 total. I had $10 to my name when dropped in Toma...and I got to be in debt to Roehl $2800 for the school, $450 for hotel, $200 for food and laundry. I HAD A CDL-A with hazmat but they insisted I attend their school and I was desparate and I believed all the sunshine that was floating around...although I do not get why so many trainees are needed. Week after week...perhaps a money making scam?

I find it funny you were bashing me over this just last week. I guess my predictions were spot on. Pretty good for a newbie!! All I'm going to say on this matter is I told you so. :biggrin_25523::biggrin_25523:

I won't be going to any company, and I will not be able to aquire a CDL. So that's where I am at. But I'm not crying or whining about it. It is what it is.
