He didn't accidentally drive into any crowd. He drove into the crowd on purpose. He could of called the cops to either get escorted out, or turned around or whatever.

you're not from America, originally, are you ZVar?singlescrewshaker, Trucker61016, bzinger and 4 others Thank this. -
I am. I also believe in personal responsibility. As soon as he seen the crown he should have stopped, not after he tried plowing into it. He chose to assault how many people with his truck?
We aren't talking about Reginald Denny here. He didn't stop and the crowd came to him. He drove the truck into the crowd. Once he done that, well he should not have gotten beaten sure, but I understand it happening.
If he would have simply stopped before the crowd, and backed out, or called the cops, or even turned around this never would have happened. His actions is what caused his own problems.gentleroger Thanks this. -
I believe in the constitution.......most relevant here, the Interstate Commerce Clause....
Commerce Clause - Wikipedia
You may protest, that is your right.
You may not interrupt interstate commerce in the exercise of those rights.
Whether the dude knew he was driving into a protest is not the issue. The issue is whether he had the right to be where he was and whether the protesters had the right to be where they were. He did, they didn't.
This will probably get moved.......Tbone$, singlescrewshaker, Trucker61016 and 11 others Thank this. -

All the Monday morning quarterbacks and truck stop super trucker hero’s are gonna come out to tell everyone what he should’ve done. Fact is, he had seconds to react to a situation. Please... tell us all how you would’ve done it so much better now that you’ve had time to think about it and see the result of his choices.
He was on an interstate with a reasonable assumption people wouldn’t be blocking it...and yeah, seconds to react, make a potentially life altering decision and make it the right decision. I feel for the guy. He should not be charged. It’s a witch hunt and if he goes down, then the people who were illegally on the interstate and who beat him should be charged as well. Matter of fact, he was a hazmat driver...should this involve homeland security and terrorist threats made to him and his hazmat vehicle?
I hope he gets a good lawyer to fight these bogus charges.ira1377, Infosaur, Studebaker Hawk and 12 others Thank this. -
I drive through Portland and Seattle regularly so these violent mobs are a serious threat to my well being on a daily basis. I've seen dozens of police vehicles blocking streets and have luckily not had any issues yet. I feel sorry for the mother of the rioter who thinks they're going to block me from feeding my family. My life and my family's well being means more to me than some criminals agenda.Tbone$, singlescrewshaker, Trucker61016 and 8 others Thank this.
