FCC--Fremont Contract Carriers

Was one of those “no contact sites”... I’ll note that on the bill in place of a signature I guess. Oh well, it was an easy day for me... lol

 

Be dang sure to put the times on the bills ! Not the cover sheet . I wasn’t aware of this and went 6 or 7 months last year before someone correct me and I lost all... of my detention money for that time period. Needless to say I made it Known I wasn’t happy and pretty chicken - - - -

 

I’ve always felt that as my employer if you expect me to be there you should pay me regardless of the customers actions. Needless to say, most companies do not agree.

 

Companies should compensate their drivers when held up regardless..then go after customers for the money and if certain customers routinely hold drivers up for long periods, stop hauling their freight..

Well, got my satellite installed at the Fremont shop the other day... And... Hallelujah! It works with a receiver from my house!!! No paying a separate subscription for something I am already paying for

 

Though I fully agree with your statement, and have said the same thing for the 40+ years I’ve been doing this, it will never happen. As long as there’s a company out there willing to haul that type of companies freight, we will continue to see this type of behavior from some shippers and receivers. Not all shippers and receivers are the same, but there’s enough out there that could care less about the trucking company or, God forbid, the driver. It’s amazing when one goes in for a simple drop and hook, then has to wait 3 hours to get the ok to release the load or paperwork. Perfect example? The Walmart produce center in Colton Ca. Drop and hook, 4 hour wait on paperwork. And because it’s the grand poobah of companies that controls everything with incoming and outgoing freight, we will always be at their mercy. But hey, I truly appreciate the smoke screen about how much we’re needed and appreciated during this Chinese flu.

 

Head back out tomorrow to Elizabethtown NC for a load to Belvidere IL before Monday with wife in tow. Now, I gotta behave again!

 

Got three loads today. Drop this current Menards, move another Menards load to another Menards, move another Menards to yet another Menards... then grab a load in Lincoln heading back to Ellabell, GA...

Then home to cast my vote in person!!!
(Oh, and visit with the wife too... lol)
