You have the right attitude. Finish up your schoolwork, survive your time with the trainer. Just kidding about the Big Luther bs. And work there long enough to exit without owing them for your training. Move on to a good job so you don’t have to live in a tent on your time off. About a two year plan. Hang in there and good luck to you.

 

Once you get some experience and find your own rhythm out here on the road you or your dispatcher will start working to line up your next load a couple of days before you get empty.

There are times that I know what my westbound backhaul load will be BEFORE I know what my east bound load will be... Then I have to make sure I plan my days leading up to it so I can make both delivery and reload appointments.

 

Dont forget how to parallel park!!!! It will come in handy in smaller rest areas... Like what they have along I-80 in Nebraska.
