If they can get a truck with a tanker trailer into the front parking lot to drop fuel, there is certainly enough room to park a bobtail up there.

    Farmerbob1 Thanks this.

And then be kicke out in the middle of the night? No thank you. Last I checked it’s a truck stop not a truck and trailer stop.

Nobody is suggesting that you should try to park a truck with a trailer up front, nor should you block the drops on top of the tanks. But you can find a lined parking spot or two in which to park a bobtail.

    Farmerbob1 Thanks this.

No thank you. I’ll park in the truck stop, no risk of being asked to leave in the middle of the night. Not all truck stops allow bobtails in the front lot.

I'll take your word for it. In 20 years of driving I've never been asked to move my bobtail out of a lined space.

    Farmerbob1 and kylefitzy Thank this.

And I was OTR for only a year and within 6 months I was asked once. Never parked up front (unless specifically signed for bobtail) again.
I did try and park out of the way though. Either doubling up with another bobtail, or in a corner, or in front of a light pole, etc...

The loves in Bordentown, NJ doesn't allow bobtails in the front lot. They will have you towed.

I asked a Loves supervisor. Lots of parking lots for cars don’t have pavement thick enough for trucks. Trucks, even bobtailed ones, tear up the lot because of our weight. Some truck stops just won’t ask truckers to move because they are avoiding the hassle of arguing with everyone every day
