    Dropped Four Oaks and bounced to Lumberton NC for a Quickie load headed to Topeka KS. Drop that tomorrow and head to the dropyard in KCMO for a broker load due Mon in Oxford NC but will deliver Tues as to squeeze in a 34 since I have 15 hours between Sun Mon Tues anyway.

    I should have played the Lottery yesterday.

    Picked up in Joliet and there was only one other truck checking in and none in my lane so I breezed through that normal bottleneck... plus I didn’t have to even leave the property to search for an empty.

    woot woot

    bonus, they are in the process of repainting the lines and, more importantly, the numbers.

    So the nightmare at KCMO Freightliner continues, I was assured on Friday when the line was overnighted in on Saturday my truck would be given priority by the weekend crew and I should be out of there Saturday afternoon. Yeah right, stuck in the hotel until Monday. Went back up to the truck this morning to get another change of clothes, it appears the new radiator is in, just need the cooler line to the transmission installed, and to put the front bumper back on. Maybe I can get back to earning Monday afternoon.

    Here are few numbers to think about when broken down for an extended period of time. Lost gross revenue $5100, repair estimate $3800, expenses (hotel, food, Uber) $650. Luckily I have just shy of $14K in my maintenance account and $8225 in my rainy day/slush fund account. So yes, being down for six days sucks, but in reality in won’t faze me. There has been an Asian dude from California that’s been broken down for as long as me, and he has been sleeping in the drivers lounge every night. He says “I can’t afford a hotel room.” I told him he could come to my hotel room and use my shower if he wanted, he declined.

    Well I guess it can only get better! When I had my last truck, finances were close like a lot of businesses but what killed me on a multiple day breakdown was the boredom!! I cannot sit in one place too long. Hope they get ya rollin soon.

    This wind in the Central area is pretty interesting today with the light load. Supposed to be in Florida Wednesday at 8 PM
    And I haven’t even picked a load up yet I still got to deliver this Jayhawk load and then run down and get it in Lincoln from chewy
