is that a real pass, or not so much....

That and WV and VT or upstate NY.... think Keene valley.... is all I’ve done.

Have you gone into Gettysburg on US 30? If so, you qualify.

If you've had a trainee try and upshift on the downgrade and miss, you qualify twice.

 

All your time pulling a reefer was with YRC? Or did you also drive for someone else?

Pulled for a few others also. Really liked refrigerated OTR.
Only reason I left was the company was selling out, so I decided to try tankers.
Schwerman had an ad in the paper for drivers. I called and they offered me local/regional/OTR.
Told them only interested in OTR, so they hired me for pulling hazmat tankers 48 states and Canada.
Really liked hazmat tankers, but missed the stress and tight schedules of refrigerated OTR and that's a fact. Not every driver is cut out for the refrigerated trucking.

 

I've been west over donner. It didn't seem to me to be such an extreme pass like everyone had always made it sound like. Just my opinion.

 

I understand completely. I do better under pressure and enjoy the “stress” running tight schedules. Kinda weird, but it’s something I’ve learned about myself after a couple decades trucking lol.
