AHHHHHH.... I just want one thing to be simple. Am I b*tching? Yes. Am I entitled to? I don't care.:biggrin_25523:
All we want to do is drive the truck back to TX. Can't these states unify some ####? Iowa wants a temp fuel permit for $26. Missouri doesn't care as long as we have the bill of sale. Kansas wants a temp registration for $26 and a temp fuel permit for $13. Oklahoma doesn't seem to care as long as we have a bill of sale and Texas wants a temp registration for $25. :biggrin_25520:

If you ain't going to work it immediately then take off the 5th wheel and register it as an RV.

Holy ####. I'm going to be in a real mess. I have to go from IA to MI bobtail, then MI to MT with my empty trailer. Do I have to call all these states ahead of time for permits on a temp tag truck and trailer?

I am contemplating hauling ### at night and playing dumb. I mean how's to say they lady we talked to on the phone and said we didnt need anything is right anyhow? Most of them dont seem very sure of anything anyhow.

In your case i would bobtail from IA to MT, you already bought the trailer just get the vin for it. Then once you get authority and ins go pick the trailer up. Just a thought. If your lucky maybe you could find a power only to get you closer to the area because that's gonna be a lot of fuel either way.

I bought my truck in Sioux Falls.. When I bobtailed home I had to get fuel and trip permits in Montana and Idaho.. Wyoming didn't charge me, saying that I had the right to get my truck home..

    They're all different.. :biggrin_25516:
