Seems like they could have at least stacked all the long ones on the front and the rest behind it. Even if they had to put some short ones on the front you would have only had to rethrow one tarp. Just my unsolicited opinion.

Yep. Like I said, first pipe load I’ve ever done and the guy loading was nice enough but didn’t explain very well what was divided between the two stops. They were different locations of same company, I assumed (there’s part of my problem) they were divided between the two stops. I didn’t figure out all the 10.5 footers were stop one and the long ones stop two till I got the paperwork. I’m learning though.

Yep multi stop loads are tricky, especially when they are tarped. I’ve had some loads that had 5 drops and it can be tricky to remember where everything is, we do some loads that have 20 drops. No thank you.

Any time i have extra stops. I used to spend a couple minutes throwing ductape on each piece and writing which stop each pallet is. Or just put sharpie right on the pallet. Or just take a blank piece of paper and draw out the trailer so it becomes a quick guide for when u get to ur next stop .... I effed up a 9 stop load earlier this year .. Light poles.... Well i gave a customer 1 to many poles and the previous customer was obviously shorted 1 pole... #### happens

May I bug you? Appears your private messaging tuned off. (was done to me too)
I need to know what to expect in winter on the freeway? Up to Butte from Billings. How much of a chance of putting on chains? How many times a winter? It's a regular dedicated run.

    D.Tibbitt and cke Thank this.

I've been that route in early winter in a pickup, with the little snow on the ground I could personally see if get dicy on certain parts - certain parts would need chains.

Theres 2 Big mountain passes . the first one just east of butte and then the second one about 40 miles east of butte. Couple smaller ones around columbus area but shouldnt need chains unless its snowing really bad and ur super light or empty. once u get passed livingston closer to billings it flattens out.... If it is snowing heavy they are more likely to close the road in butte at that mountain pass...... Honestly ur biggest problem is gonna be the wind ... livingston to columbus has to be the worst wind in the country. It routinely has gusts up in the 60+mph range ..... Id definatly carry chains with you at all times running that route but i wouldnt hesitate to jump on it if it pays good....definatly sounds like a gravy run.... You could even carry the snow socks instead of chains and they would work just fine since ur only gonna need them to get up and over the mountains and take them off on the other side....
