Why are we letting them charge us to park

Dont give them your business. Take it to the small mom and pops who need the money

 

If the business model doesn't work, they'll stop.

 

In this country a business can charge whatever they like. either they have buyers or they don't. You don't know what they pay in property taxes and maintenance.
How about stay at rest areas if you don't want to pay? Or end your day earlier so you get a free spot?

 

Because it's their business and it's not breaking any laws to charge for using their resources for your profit.

If they loose money then they will change or go out of business.

It’s a wonder all truck stop parking isn’t paid. It is 2020 after all. The larger the chains get, and less the competition, the more you’ll see paid parking.

I'm basically a road savage. I'll say in the last 500K miles, I've paid for parking 6 times.

They do it because they megas will support it.

 

they dont charge you if you buy stuff at the truckstop an show them the reciept. if you dont want to buy anything why do they owe you parking? its called capitalism, its what people love untill the money is coming out of their pocket an not someone elses.
