It does now that you say it. It was a cool short cut my co worker found. We were kickin up pheasants along the ditch line too, it was kinda neat. First time I’ve ever seen em in the wild. We’d go on pheasant hunts in Missouri when I was younger but it was a game farm time thing where they went out and placed them the morning of. Same thing, but different type deal.

Sitting out in mobile tonight, I’m sure I’ve posted the pic a handful of times but I always seem to time it right, sun going down and the city skyline in the background. Even as neglected as the old truck has been lately, it still looks good IMO with that backdrop. 537E1629-D4B2-479F-B2DA-7BA67BBE815E.jpeg

Sittin in Des Moines. Between slow loaders and snowy roads I missed my reload by 18 minutes. No matter I wouldn’t have made it back anyway this evening. Load in the morning, and zip down to Sedalia. As usual, great pic @Trashtrucker1707

This is initially when I was like “oh wow snow in the fields”. Within an hour it was “oh wow the roads looks a little slushy” and then quickly “oh wow there’s a truck jackknifed... and a car on its roof... and another one.....”

Well I for one am glad this week is over. Got back Tuesday from Des Moines and dispatcher said “just unload it Wednesday there’s not much goin on anyway”. So early day Tuesday. Today I dumped it and then brought the 40 ft spread back to its rightful owner (for those keeping up I had got it from a co worker who tested COVID positive), reloaded pea gravel in Lexington, MO for KCMO. No problems there. Then reloaded machine turnings right up the street for Sedalia Monday. Then I’m already preplanned to load dry sand after that to take out to the airport in Denver, CO. Couple of guys said we used to do it all the time, we get escorted out on the runway and dump in a maintenance shack. Should be interesting. Hope everyone has made it home safe, happy thanksgiving to all!

I had a quick 3 days, busy but good. Unloaded Monday morning close to the house, came back to Ocala and loaded for mobile, I dropped that Tuesday morning, a load of scrap that literally strung out 30 yards but it all came out without the help of a grapple so that’s a plus. From there I went up to Montgomery and loaded rock for Daytona beach, dropped that yesterday morning and then did a few maintenance items, had to have a thermostat replaced on my APU. I’m a fan of the APU, but less than 2 years in to having it, it’s had quite a few breakdowns. Hope everyone that’s still around has a good holiday and weekend.

Yea dude scrap sucks. I had a few heavy melt loads this week and I don’t even raise all the way up. Soon as it start comin out I ease forward, let more come out and so on. Soon as my front gauge looks light and most of it is out I pull away and suck the trailer to me to get out any straggler pieces or bolts. It keeps that crap from bunching up and tearing stuff up, or falling back onto your trailer lights or brakes. They got mags and loaders they can push it up in the pile. What brand apu do you guys run?

We have the thermokings, they’ll freeze you out in the summer and sweat you out in the winter. I didn’t think I’d like it after idling for years, but I sleep like a rock with it running.

BS ! until you hit that 35 you are not speeding. Even then any reasonable cop gives you some lead way. You do not know the area and them signs were put up for cars not trucks.
As far as going around scales, I assume that is the idea here, in kansas it is not illegal but OK and MO it is. Just never admit that is what you were doing. I just say " I like going this way. Less boring and my dog is not scared and can look at window at slower speeds ". Just never say I was going around scales. None of their business what road you travel on.
Cop just wanted to give a ticket. Matters not if it gets tossed. You still have to shell out several hundred for attorney. Cop is happy he cost you money.
Probably knows you are going around scales and just wants to cause you problems. Happened to me many times .
Kansas end dump and grain for about 10 years.

Here you go, I got a ticket in my car for running a red light. I have video of it. I was way past intersection and light still yellow.
Some cops are just pricks. So far cost me 300 bucks for lawyer.

    NightWind Thanks this.
