Truck Load Rates Halt 8 Week Slide 2.0

Hey before you go out and buy that truck here's a question I've been wondering about and you should too.

When it happens that these rates come down where is it they will come down to during lean times?

Will you earn 50% less? Will you earn 75% less?

To those of you that have been through many cycles of this is there an answer to that question?

 

For someone who runs only 50 000 miles per year, even 3 dol per mile may be too little.
And all those x per mile things are rather high too.
Including pay per mile.

 

I did that for 2 years.1.50 pm but about 150 000 miles per year. I got too old and tired for that. But many don't mind and not much a thread can do about it.

So we worry about the freight market implosion which will suck in many in this business. Assuming no more PPPs or EIDLs,
maybe those running on crack will have best chances to survive. e.i. what's the alternative?
LOL.

 

Anyhow, my shut down got interrupted for about 8 hours today. I was convinced by $900 to haul water for 140 miles.
I call it a supplemental income.
P.S. I wanted $1075 but my bid was turned down.

Depends on the lease, many lease pay all or some of your plates, insurance, ifta,fsc, no trailer payment, big fuel and tire discounts etc.

 

They pay it from the revenue generated by the truck. It’s not free
