The one with the Masters degree lasted less than a week before he was fired for being an idiot. The one who got out of prison has been here nearly 2 years and is now a production manager. We will not hire anyone who has been through or is enrolled in the ceramics program at Arizona State anymore. They think they know everything and in fact know nothing useful for production ceramics.

I really hope this second pickup place lights a fire under some behinds soon before my 14 runs out and can't make third stop. Late for third stop now and hope will load me when I get there, even if it is tomorrow. At least I can put in for detention. 1300 appt and it is after 1600 and still no activity in my reefer yet.

Didn't make it to third pickup, that second pickup place held me up for 5 hours. Had just enough time to park it for the day. Hope they will load me in the morning and aren't one of those evening only places.

    MidWest_MacDaddy and Finfn1372 Thank this.

Well, at least third pickup is going to work me in today but who knows how long Ill be sitting here today though. Amazes me how slow some of these places move as far as reefer goes.

With respect, and absolutely no disrespect to the GI Bill, but we now have several examples of degrees going unused... now I admit that my degree comes in handy now and then but it’s not required to drive a truck and I’d much rather be in a cab than an office... my first wife and mother of my two daughters has a degree and ended up enjoying cooking for a University.

if we all want a degree, we need to have some skin in that game and pay for, or finance it, ourselves... I don’t think it’s a good idea to pay for everyone’s ceramics degree or business degree or history of basket weaving degree only to have them be worth to the person what they paid for it. Nothing. We will have more people out here with unused degrees paid for by others. Plus more people out of the workforce for 4 years when they could be earning. Plus, it does nothing for reducing the cost of a degree... but pushes costs higher.

The classes they take for some of these degrees are ridiculous. A few years ago we had a senior working on her ceramics degree. She didn't even know how much she had in student loans. I helped her add them up and she was over $100k. Her final semester she had 3 classes. Queer Studies, the History of Illegal Immigration, and a sculpture class.

Who offers degrees in ceramics, why would anyone want one, and just exactly what field is such a degree useful in?
