It depends on what you're hauling and how far.

If you can stay within 300 or miles from home you should be able to find a way to make that work.

Like a sleeper when local, for the room. Carry a change of clothes just in case. rain suit, some tools, other goodies etc. Proper place to hang and store everything. Cab is neat and uncluttered. And if I have to wait somewhere, I snooze in comfort.

You can sleep in the cab. You just can't log sleeper. The DOT can ask to see motel receipt all they want but there is nothing in the regs that say motel receipts are one of the documents that you have to save or produce for inspections.

^^^^Correct. You can do anything you want while OFF duty. Sleep in TV lounge at truck stop, hotel room, or not even sleep. But can't log sleeper in day cab.

Heck, I've been running a tractor with a bunk for ~3 years now..

Haven't colored on line 2 yet, & no one has said a peep about it..

get what I call a "teamster day cab", the bunk is up against the seat. I ran one for over a year for one company waiting on my full size to come in.

As long as you have a front curtain it works.
