Makin' the bacon while local tanker yankin'

I double clutch for downshifting. It’s easier for me. I don’t know why. Like most people say, if you can’t shift without the clutch, then use it. It’s better than grinding.

 

i have never double clutched. ever. i didn't know it was a thing until i read the cdl handbook. i had never seen it first hand. the guys i watched drive only used the clutch when at a stop. i thought never using the clutch was simply how it's done.

Me too. Rural NC though. Had a mid 40 something guy with 4 kids and no patience as my trainer. All I remember him saying is “leave dat clutch lone” and “givit some fuel!” It worked though. 21 years later and I haven’t seen the inside of a trucking school yet.

 

Gotta love the 13 speed. Gonna get the most pull out of any power. If it's a large Cat oh my popping a chubbie balls to the wall fun.

 

Ok stupid question for you @McUzi.....

Is there a difference between hauling fuel and propane? May have an opportunity with both sometime early next year....

Is there a surge with propane vs what the fuel has?
