@farmerjohn64 I was just pullin yer leg. Tankers are cool. I’ll never do anything other the bulk work the rest of my trucking career. I do both dry and wet tankers.

Ha I knew you were; I don’t make as much doing flatbed for Western Express especially when you consider how much time I spend waiting to get loaded and unloaded; I hear tankers get compensated for one or both of these; is that correct? I know it’s dependent on the company as well

Yes there is normally demurrage paid to the company after a certain point on both the load and unloading side. Now weather or not the company passes that to the driver is a different story. Im an o/o, independent contractor or what ever you wanna call it for the company I haul for so they pass what ever they charge the customer straight through to me where as the company drivers get paid and hourly rate on the demurrage.

Yep, for an employee, the demurrage pay is all over the place. A few pay 0. Other $10-$15 and hour after xhrs. Last place I worked paid $30 an hr. Other things to consider at tanker companies are what accessorials are paid and how much. Things like truck pump or air off, extra hose etc. Load/unload pay. A place that pays lower in one area may pay better in others.

I've been out of it for awhile now. @wsyrob, @Ruckie and @jdimes run for different companies so maybe they can input something here

    Anything KAG sucks.........

1st they try to buy companies out . If that doesn’t work they swarm a market and will loose money on it until they drive all the locals out of business.....
