Extendable Gap on RGN

If you have a drive on load that requires you to extend, how do you bridge the extension gap? i thought of putting part of it up on the rear boggie while i pulled it apart but i don't think that'll work!

lots of loads seems to me are a little longer than 29


unrelated question, how do you attach straps on a lowboy? do you use hand winchs and straps with chain ends?

 

We had a sliding table to bridge the gap. I have also used ramps.
Straps with chain ends work, we also had clamp on hand winches.

 

You’re talking about if the wheels would hit where there’s only the beam. So far, the only thing that I have had on that was too big to fit on the inside of a 29 ft well, roll on roll off, was a 4 axle rollback and a road grader. I backed the 4 axle on, and using boards as ramps, drove the rear drive onto the back deck section. A road grader will walk up the back easily. If that were not possible, I would do it like the guys who run a beam trailer. Drop the air out of the suspension, use dunnage under the wheels stacked on the ground, use dunnage under the steer axle on the beam, air up the suspension to remove the wheel dunnage. Secure the load.

Ramps made out of frame rails, or lots of dunnage, or get a rolling bunk, a platform that you put the wheels on and it slides to the back,XL makes one

Chained the axle up so it wouldn't sag.
