if a previous employer had stiffed me, a simple call to the unemployment division would’ve solved my issues.
1099 is a contract and requires a court to decide.

But it is not legal for a company to pay you 1099 while you drive their equipment and they dictate how or where you run.

The IRS has specific rules in place to determine if you are a contracted employee.
