Why do I have a feeling it’s going to take a long time for that to come through

 

I wouldn’t say it’s high, but in the long run I think you’ll come out ahead,if we’re talking dry van or flatbed. Reefer would be better off giving up the percentage.

 

I still think 6% is too high for a dry van.

Buy new, run for 5 yrs 500k and sell it and buy another new one.

I’d say you’ll come in right about .085 per mile. This also doesn’t take into account that after 5 yrs you still have a paid for asset at that point. Let’s say you sell it for 20k. Original purchase was let’s say 32,500. Now, let’s say that the new one is $34,000. Over the next 5yrs and 500k you’ll end up using that trailer for around .05 per mile.

So, for me I like the idea of having my own trailer that makes me money and I’m in control of.

 

I bow to the master I’m just an idiot that doesn’t believe you can insure and maintain a trailer for 5 years on 10 grand.
