For example if the rating of the pickup is 12,000, and the trailer rating is say 16,000 then that's CDL A territory. It doesn't matter you are hauling sailboat fuel or lead ingots.Mojo1960 and singlescrewshaker Thank this. -

It seems nobody knows this , nor how many times I looked at it has it dawned on me..
With this new to me info, it really seems one can run a 4 car hauler as non CDL & make some money. 24kHotshot, does this seem like a feasible set up.?
A 26k gross 2 car hauler truck, pulling a 10k gross tag along 2 car, or maybe ever stinger steered.? Seems like you could be 75' long as the power unit carries a vehicle, & be classified as a car hauler..
Seems nobody else has thought of this either..? 36k lb no CDL seems crazy to me..
