I am hoping in a quick spike in rates because of this. Anyone else think this will play to our cards?
Will rates hit high with FedEx and UPS doing Covid vaccine Shipping?

I would say yes. I deal in medical and the last week and a half I’ve been seeing LTL being pushed to the truck load segment in a big way.
It’s mostly reefer and reefer haz tho. Also reefer haz team which is a needle in a hay stack. -
My guess is it will have zero effect. You could probably transport 300,000,000 doses in a handful of semi trucks. But these are being distributed to central locations in all 50 states. Likely via refrigerated straight trucks. The New York Times did a huge story today on the logistics of it but I don't care and didn't read it.
More impactful will be states that are needlessly locking down and closing up business. We're already seeing rates slip the past two weeks and peak season isn't anywhere near over. Stupid politicians are going to wreak havoc on the economy again with these foolish lockdowns.86scotty, Midwest Trucker, lynchy and 2 others Thank this. -
No, there will be no spill over from this, the preparing of this has been in motion for months thanks to Trump. Both companies have ramped up and realigned their resources to fill their gaps.
some of us are hauling for supplies but the vaccine shipments are so tightly control and protected and why we have two land carriers handling it.Siinman and rollin coal Thank this. -
