School is asking me for $3,600. I have the savings to pay cash upfront. Should I choose Swift program or pay myself for school?
Thanks!

Neither; buy a plane ticket to France instead.

So Amazon is out? Just curious as that is your other recent post.

I got my CDL through Swift. It was a good experience, we had a wide range in our class, some got a lot out of it, many failed despite the best efforts of the instructors. You get out relative to what you put in.
As to cost, at that time, Swift had it set up so you'd have it paid off if you stayed with them for a year.
I made it 8 months, but to be fair to Swift, that was probably a lot more due to my unrealistic expectations than it was anything to do with Swift.
Some of the instructors were excellent, some were decent, none were bad.
My "mentor", in whose truck I had to spend 5 of the most miserable weeks of my life, well, if he was to show up at my door, my moral dilemma would be which boot I'd use to kick his worthless, arrogant ###.born&raisedintheusa, alds, Chinatown and 2 others Thank this. -

Going with Amazon is like my decision of going with Uber, same mistake. Amazon will pay my bills noe but it has no future. I am 30. I need to get serious with my life now. Trucking is a career.

Just word of advice from someone quite a bit older than you that has 28 years working the public and private sector. I have researched and researched getting into a trucking career. Spreadsheets, talking with drivers, talking with companies, posting on forums, etc. The more you research and ask opinions of others, the more confusing it can get.
You’re 30 years old and need to make decisions for yourself. Put an application in at Swift and go thru the process with a positive attitude, a desire to learn and most importantly a desire to succeed. The rest will fall into place.
Please don’t take this wrong, but your variety of recent posts shows that you are currently all over the place. FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS. There are a plethora of topics on going to a company sponsored training program. Look at those and you have most of not all of your questions answered.
P.S. Please don’t call me dear.Gearjammin' Penguin, 91B20H8, born&raisedintheusa and 3 others Thank this. -
