20201217_075619.jpg As much as I like the cold weather I don't mind no tarp loads. I'll get this little gravy load off tomorrow morning.

I always thought those crushed car loads would leave crap all over the deck like oil and grease and sharp piece of metal?

Every time I see one of those the comments will say “ Must have 13 chains” or some BS, which I maybe able to cover I just don’t want anywhere near 13 chains on my truck lol

How did it ride for you? I got a good look at one up close the other day and it looked very clean

393.132 What are the rules for securing flattened or crushed vehicles?
    (a) Applicability. The rules in this section apply to the transportation of vehicles such as automobiles, light trucks, and vans that have been flattened or crushed.

    (b) Prohibition on the use of synthetic webbing. The use of synthetic webbing to secure flattened or crushed vehicles is prohibited except that such webbing may be used to connect wire rope or chain to anchor points on the commercial motor vehicle. However, the webbing (regardless of whether edge protection is used) must not come into contact with the flattened or crushed cars.

It's not even crushed cars. It's crushed stuff like refrigerators, and that kind of stuff. They shred it, and crush it into square bales. And yeah, it left a lot of crap on the deck. They had a separate place to go sweep it off. There was some oil residue as well, here and there. Probably from crushed up lawn mower engines.

The silver lining, is the steel mill is open 24/7, and it's near my house. So I can take that load over there, and go home empty whenever I want. The main downside, is all the shrapnel on the ground. Scares the crap out of me. How strong are these 14-ply tires when it comes to running over stuff? Should I be paranoid about it?
