    Note to self...

Always have a full fuel tank before entering New Jersey. :biggrin_25520:

Sounds about like Oregon. Makes a guy feel like a total idiot to sit in the car while some young girl pumps your gas for you. But they sure won’t let you do it.

What a lot of people today don't know, is many years ago most truck drivers did not fuel their trucks. In fact, my father's company actually paid him when he had to. It was several bucks. By the 90s this was for the most part gone. But as a child when I made trips with my dad, I remember many times him parking telling the attendant what he wanted. If my memory serves the cashier used those fueling slips to bill the driver. Then after the cashier would hand dad his S&H Green stamps!

I would have thought the 1st BIG bill would have straightened you out! Just pay attention! Double check yourself before you pull the handle on the nozzle...

Before Jack Cardwell opened the first Petro in El Paso, almost all truck stops had someone there to fuel your truck. Many of them washed the windows and mirrors and checked the fluids too. That Petro's self serve prices saved truckers money and the stops themselves were top shelf at the time. Didn't take long for other stops to copy the self serve thing and it's been downhill ever since.

It's been years but I want to remember my dads company had them fuel so they could get the low price. I think they always fueled in a Petro if one was available. My dad knew Jack Cardwell. My dad did not live to see Cardwell sell out.

Go through the semi fuel islands... But this will probably piss off alot of truckers.

Otherwise you need to pay attention to what you are doing...
