I made 70k last year at years end. Last weeks paycheck exceeded 71k, I should be in the 74-75k range by the time it's over for 2020. I'm working allot but the money is what I consider very good for local work, I dont even know if I would make more even if I was OTR. I've had allot of $1,700-$1,800 gross weeks lately, he has lost some drivers so im getting more then usual plant deliveries, there is only 1 plant I visit, oatka Batavia. The loads take usually a hair under 2hrs and pay $50.

Does this company have its flaws, yes. I make really decent money and the boss leaves me alone. I've seen 2 DWIs (other drivers) and multiple wrecks... trailers getting smashed ect ect. I once hooked up to a trailer I dont normally use, it had a good sized dent. I called my boss and told him about it. I didn't do it therefore I dont take responsibility. He says he knows I didn't do it, my reputation speaks to that... and that he doesn't have anything that isnt dented anymore. Good grief I think to myself, dont these people know what mirrors are. He buys quite a few autoshifts now so he can hire the dopes. I have truck 84, a 18 manual so I dont care lol.

I bet I make what I make, partially because of my job performance I dont hit things, show up late, or turn down work. I dont think he wants me to walk. I also dont generally screw up other things like farm samples, spilling milk which makes a mess, or screwing up measurements and paperwork. There is allot of little things that go into this besides just driving truck. They are usually easy things to do, regardless people still screw it up.

At times people on the forum question why im still working for this rag tag operation. Money, generally respected, and home daily. It fits what I need and he's not paying me peanuts. My home needs sidding, I want to pay cash. It looks like I might just pull it off.

I'll bet your mom is so proud of you! What is your truck number? How many gears does it have? I keep forgetting.

yes i am, i only drive 100-140 miles per day. im home on a daily basis so i see home and family everyday, i sleep in my own bed. i have been known to nap at the plant or at a farm if they arent done milking. i know how to pace myself and get rest. today i was done at 2pm.

would i want to drive 7 days a week if i drove 4-500 miles a day. no, i dont think i would. i spend allot of my day loading milk. for example, i get i start my route at 6:30am, get to the farm by 7am and load milk, they make 45K lbs. this takes about an hour. i drive to the next farm, it takes me an additional half an hour to load an additional 25K. i then either drive to the yard and drop it OR deliver to oatka which pays an additional $50. this is depending upon the schedule im given. after dropping OR going to oatka, load another 2 or 3 farms (these are every other day stops). if i am unloading my 1st load at the plant i usually dont have to wash the tanker. A tanker CIP is good for 4 days or 96 hours, you have 24 hours to start reloading without a wash being required. if i reload it will be completely full again in less then 3 hours. i have actually made $50 at the plant and being there less then an hour.

my pay averages out to $20+ an hour, sometimes as high as $27 per hour, i calculate this based upon my earning for the day divided by the hours i work. today i made $285 and i worked 11 hours, $25.90 per hour. when the weather goes bad, this goes out the window and i worry about SAFETY FIRST.

i choose to work 7 days a week, i could have a day off a week but then i wouldn't see some of the checks i have seen. even so this week i load milk 6 days plus i have 10 oatka deliveries so i will gross $1500+. i have had some $1,700 weeks and i think my highest was over $1,800. this is GROSS pay. really im quite pleased and this job has exceeded my expectations. i started here 3 years ago and DID NOT expect to stay, but if i can make that money and the boss is decent to me, why in the world would i leave?
