Hit a 13'6 ¹/² bridge.

    He said it was marked 13'6. That was another example. What I don't get is he said he was doing 5 mph. How much damage could be done at that speed?

    When the height is that close I’d dump the air out of the suspension..... before going under.

    Not trying to be a Richard but car hauling the driver is in constant battle against bridges, low clearance passes, telephone lines, etc. I used to watch a youtube trucker channel. He was a van/reefer driver. Then he switched to car hauling. It became a pain to watch that and I quit.

    Ave U is a local delivery route, not a through route, and that bridge he hit is marked 12’ 2”. The op can get a lawyer, the lawyer will try to understand why truck heights in the boroughs are screwed up but who ever he is suing will bring up what I just said, 12” 2’ is marked, not 13’ 6” so it won’t go anywhere.

    He might have edited it, but he stated in the first post it was a 12'2" bridge.... He never claimed it was marked 13'6", just that he's taken a 13'6" under it before.

    Yes, possibly. I went back and read it and now it does not state what the bridge was marked. It just says he measured it, and had been under bridges marked 12'2" in the next post.

    Honestly, I’m not saying or implying this is your fault. Not at all, but you asked a question, so I’m just gonna relay my experience

    I drive a lot around Philly and Camden. I have many customers that I’ll go in one way full, but take a different way back when I’m empty because I know I’ll bridge my trailer. I feel like this is pretty common for local drivers in any major city.

    what makes this situation weird Is it’s a route you’ve done the same thing many times in the past. But the fact that you raised “4inches empty” isn’t that bazzarre at all. Happens to me all the time. The fact that it’s something you’ve done “500 times” is what makes it crazy.

    Its one of the only bridges under the coney island train. That ave U and Ave Y but U is local truck route and Y isn't. Unless you go up 80 blocks to foster Ave to go over the train. But that's the way I always gone in and our for pass 7 years when delivering lower Brooklyn. I was under it the day before. Why im amazed

    Did you all miss the post he said front corner of trailer. Or did I read it wrong?

    Last I checked. The front corner sits on the truck.

    And if the weather is cold. Seems like a leveling valve problem. As already mentioned.

    If you watch the frame to the tires. 2 inches should be noticeably higher.
    And with 13.6 being max height on the east coast.

    My tanker sits at the same height loaded or empty. You can see the air bags plain as day.
