Wouldn’t at least 2 belly chains be very advisable there?

Typically you want to put blocks in between the bundles. Have them slide the bundles into the blocks, and when you chain or strap it pulls everything together and still leaves space for unloading.
The way you had it, if you would’ve slammed on the brakes that would would have slid forward.Lostkeys, cke, PoleCrusher and 3 others Thank this. -
The rear chain should be ahead of the rear block to put extra pressure on the block, downward pressure adds friction and will counteract inertia.
I would have put at least 1 chain between layers and would have wrapped the top layer ahead of the front block and pulled back slightly.
A bulkhead built at least 1/2 the way up the top layer would be a good idea.
2 inch blocking between bundles is almost mandatory in my book for crane unloading or loading.Last edited: Dec 24, 2020

Where do u guys carry all this extra equipment at ? How to block something with blocks in between when u dont carry it ? I carry a couple blocks with me . But most likely wouldve just throw an extra chain up front and back and hit the road.
