Just ain't been out in the world having any adventures, so not much input coming from me..
I did get another free lunch courtesy of @Tug Toy on Sunday.!Thats the only income I've had since 11/11, last BOL I sent in..
Just some complaining about the shoddy craftsmanship conducted on poor ol Buck. Everyone here is right, & I should have tackled it myself..
Stop reading now to save yourself from my whineyness..
Gave me headlight bucket out of a junk, yet didn't bother to clean it out.
Tried to give me a bezel of the junk. Did get a this new one out of them. But they jammed them in all c ockeyed to the point only 3 of the 4 fasteners would go in, so refitted them myself..
The hood bushings are bad, so the grille makes contact with bumper when hood is open. Solved that for now by turning the hood strap buckles 180°. Why they didn't bother to call, or just replace the dang bushing is beyond me. So I am removing the hood myself to replace them.. See where this is going.? I basically will be redoing the entire job..
The gille washers looked too small to me, & they hung it with no rubber isolators between the steel & fiberglass. So while taking that back apart, I snapped 3 of the 4 bolts off. Stainless nuts on stainless bolts apparently muttles.? I just learned this, but the "professionals" whom mounted it should have put antisieze on the treads.. So now the grille is at my local welding shop getting new bolts welded on..
Also that Hogebuilt is the most expensive stainless steel grill you can find for an FLD or Classic. Well their craftsmanship ain't great either. Most the tack welds on the honeycomb in there popped too, so she was rattling something fierce. All that will be tacked back together too, but sheesh. Come on Hogebuilt...
I can go on, but gotta stop as I'm just getting worked up.. lol
But I'm still alive & kick'n!! Sorry, didn't mean to bring y'all down..
Hope you had Merry Christmas & Happy New Year's eve to you @D.Tibbitt & everyone else here on #5.. -

2 weeks ago I actually had an office chick at a shop tell me they would have to remove my entire transmission and send it to another shop to install the 13spd conversion valve kit. I tried to explain that it was just a valve on the back of the trans and asked if I could talk to the shop manager. I was denied talking to him and told they just "dont get that involved in trans repairs". -

Holy #### @singlescrewshaker I coulda done a better job in the backyard! Aside from paint of course.
I needed a new bumper on my pickup this spring. Got it back from the body shop and had to spend almost an hour adjusting the whole dang thing because it was so far out of whack. It was crooked left to right, hanging about a half inch low, it was in closer to the body on one side AND it wasn't centered. Should have just had them paint the corner piece and replaced the thing myself. Granted I am OCD about stuff but I think the average person would have complained about it too.
