this is a forewarning to those of you who are thinking about going to schneider. during their training, you will be expected to preform another physical in addition to the one you get from a doc. for your med card. you will climb steps and lift various amounts of weights and walk around with the wts. during all this they take your blood pressure and pulse. i am 6'2" 220lbs. now i wouldnt say i am the fittest person in the world, but then i am not a fat slob that sits in front of a tv all day either. just your avg joe. anyways, halfway thru the test my pulse got up to 157 bpm and i got disqualified and sent home, even though i was not winded and preformed all the test successfully. i have always had a high metabolic rate. tried to explain this, but it didnt matter.
here is what REALLy angered me though. i spent $135 applying for a TWIC card, $50 on clothes to meet their attire standards, $25 on boots again for their attire standards, $20 on gas, $40 on food, they provide lunch ONLY. breakfast is a "continental" from the hotel, WORTHLESS! thats $270 i spent. did they re-imburse me for my time spent in training? NOPE! was i informed that if i was sent home early i would NOT be paid? NOPE they made sure to tell me how much money i WOULD be paid! lmfao
i cant say whether or not they are a good company to work for as i never got the oppertunity, but if you are going in for training, HEED my words!

seems like most companies are starting to do that physical dont know why they are
-
Keep those receipts and staple them together -deduct these items from your taxes for your "job search"
I don't even know what a Twic card is and I run with Schneider (dry van). -
-
There is a video of the "workout" on Schneider's website. -
with all the lifting tests I would assume this is for Family Dollar or Dollar General (dedicated)
With any company there are parts that pay good and get consistent miles and some other accounts that are not so good. I feel I am on one of the better accounts -that helps greatly. -
A TWIC card is for pier/intermodal loads. They have strict security around ports for better homeland security. In order to get into yards on ports, you have to get a TWIC card to enter and p/u - drop off loads.

I thought they stopped training and were now taking only experienced drivers? Not true anymore i assume?
