I always try to avoid "pattern logging". The lady who runs HOS at Stevens gave me that advice. So to this day I stagger my times. So for pre-inspection I'll log anywhere from 8 to 20 minutes. For post-inspection I'll log anywhere from 10 to 40 minutes. That's assuming nothing is wrong.
Driver manager keeps trying to make me log 15 minute post trips

Your boss is your boss. Schneider makes the rules. Whoever gives you paychecks for employment or checks for work or services performs has ways they like things done.
Me personally .... I like it. I have reached a pount in my life where $ is no longer an issue so not having any logging issues is a wonderful place to be. Not caring is power. -
Your post and pres should be different times as you'll get flagged for the same times. The rule is " as long as takes" just do a postrip. If they are on your back I suggest a few longer ones aka ice off lines, clearing trailer of ice, measuring tread ect. A few long times and a few relays later they'll get off your back. Main thing is make sure your legal and ready for anything the road throws at you. Do a solid inspection regardless of the time everytime and you'll find there's a bit of comfort that your good. Btw... ditch the 30 gallons of red paint when you can and you'll find the big boy companies don't care long as your doing your job properly.
