I think step one would be to put a volt meter on the wires and check to see exactly what the voltage is.

What does your trucks gauge read when you actually start the truck vs. just turning on the key? i.e.- What is the ENGINES alternator pushing?

I once had a positive wire in my battery box that had worn thru the insulation and was grounding itself on the box. Made my volt gauge read over 15 volts was the way i knew I had an issue. Maybe look for a shorted wire in the work you recently did.

I have a 2014 tripac. Not all the time but sometimes it charges up to 15 + volts and only shuts off when it throws a code. They just put a new computer control box under the bunk. ??? And I put new batteries in the truck last month. Any ideas
