First week out with this company, and both loads had problems. First load to Oregon Ohio was dumb. I was Told to go straight there to be unloaded on a Sunday. Shocker, nobody there. Had to sit listening to gunshots til my appt in the morning. Next load I’m near out of hours, running on recaps to next drop. Was told the appointment was today at 2345. Pull in with 10 min left on my 70. Made it legal by not wasting a minute anywhere, through the winter hell that was I-80 the last two days. Low and behold my real appointment is at 1945 on the 29th! Now I’m out of hours, have to stay here at receiver and could’ve waited out that storm someplace cozy and got a 34 where I wanted. Not a dirty parking lot infested with trash and rats. Yeah, rats. I thought they were rabbits at first. I’m over it before It started. 3100 miles in 5 days though.

Dang I hate it when this kind of crap happens. I am.afraid I would have to do an eight hour break and re set somewhere else. Been there done that and it's miserable. Probably a little harder for you to do since you just started there
Lonesome Thanks this. -

Ok... time to get real. These “Driver Managers” or whatever you want to call them are undertrained, and it shows. I had a conversation with mine twice about what my plan of attack was when I was in Arkansas, headed for my first of two drops in Dallas ending in SLC. We discussed how I was going to do a full reset at the yard since I have been running on recaps since I started. It’s how I typically roll. The truck needs some shop attention, (maintenance light) so it was a good time. The next two calls my DM completely forgot our previous conversations and was trying to plan me on loads as soon as I dropped this one. So onto yesterday. I drop my load on-time, head to the yard, grab all my laundry and stuff. Load it in my my car and head home. I get a call this Morning asking if I had seen the dispatch he put on me yesterday. I told him no, I’m doing a 34. He then asked me with a snarky tone, ”who told you to do a 34?” I said “YOU DID. We discussed it several times and that was the plan.” Then he proceeds to tell me that I can still make it on time and he will have the yard guys shag the pick up for me. But I’m gonna have to run hard to make it. So this kid trying to be a dispatcher can’t make notes on my page in his computer about what we discussed so he’s not dispatching me and putting me in a bind because of his incompetence…? Not to mention I ran 8500 miles on this truck since 25 January. The pay isn’t worth it. The incompetent management isn’t worth it. The constant micromanaging and handholding isn’t worth it. The driver facing cameras that they are newly installing are not worth it. This company acts like they want experienced drivers, but they really do act like a training company like Swift or England. Someone of my experience does not need to be handheld. I can manage my clock. Is it too much to ask to have a dispatch who knows the basics of what they are doing and support the same hours that drivers do? These guys work bankers hours. God forbid you have to get a hold of them after 5 o’clock. I’m headed back to the terminal this afternoon to clean out my truck. Good luck for those of you who like this company. Some people really like it, but it definitely is not my style. I have three job offers while I’m drinking my coffee. ✌️

Well @JAYROK sorry it didn’t work out, but to me it sounds like you can see the writing on the wall and good for you for getting out. Usually when things start like that, it doesn’t get better. Good luck in your new venture.
